Castor Thadal a réalisé le plus gros tir de sa carrière dans un des matchs les plus importants. L’ancien du Collège Champlain Saint-Lambert a réussi un panier de trois points depuis sa position dans le coin à la dernière seconde de la finale du RSEQ 2020 pour conduire les Gaiters de l’Université Bishop’s à un gain de 73-72 sur les Citadins de l’UQAM samedi soir devant une foule survoltée au Mitchell Gym. Ce panier victorieux a permis à Bishop’s de décrocher son premier titre depuis 2015 ainsi qu’un but au Championnat national le 8 Ultime de USPORTS à Ottawa.
Thadal a conclu la rencontre avec sept points, mais aucun n’a été plus important que son panier de trois points au moment critique. Il a aussi réalisé une interception, un bloc et une passe décisive en 25 minutes de jeu.
Dans la victoire surprise en demi-finale mercredi, l’étudiant en marketing et entrepreneuriat a aussi amassé sept points avec un gros panier de trois points en fin de rencontre. Il a aussi récolté une passe décisive, une interception et trois rebonds dans ce match.

The Champlain-St. Lambert product knocked down a three-pointer from the corner in the last second of the 2020 RSEQ Championship to propel the Bishop’s University Gaiters to a 73-72 victory over the UQAM Citadins on Saturday night in front of a ruckus Mitchell Gym crowd. The shot gave Bishop’s their first title since 2015 and punched their ticket to the USPORTS Final 8 National Championships.
He finished the game with seven points but none bigger than that three-pointer at a crucial time. He also had a steal, a block and an assist in 25 minutes.
In Wednesday’s semifinal upset win at Concordia, the marketing and entrepreneurship student also had seven points that included a clutch three-pointer down the stretch. He had an assist, a steal and three rebounds in that contest.
