Dynamic duo of Daoust and Davidson dominates as hockey Martlets master Ravens, extend streak to 24
Sophomore Melodie Daoust of Valleyfield, Que., scored twice and added a pair of helpers as the No.1-ranked McGill University women's hockey team cruised to a 6-3 decision over the Carleton Ravens at McConnell Arena, Sunday. Linemate Gabrielle Davidson, a freshman from Pte. Claire, Que., tallied twice, including the game-winner, and added a helper.
It was the 24th consecutive victory over a CIS opponent for the division-leading Martlets, who improved their lifetime record over Carleton to 69-1-1 in 71 lifetime meetings. The loss ended Carleton's hopes of a third-place finish in the five-team RSEQ conference and the two teams will clash in the opening round of the playoffs, which is slated to open on Feb. 20.
